To celebrate the completion of a rich journey of sixteen years, Swaasthya organized their charity event “Giving Back to Community” on Sunday, 5th of December 2010 at The International Diner to set up a “health fund for community women and girls” dedicated to the marginalized communities that Swaasthya has been working with. At this event, supporters of Swaasthya in the development sector, Director’s family and close friends were invited. The International Diner and Holisol graciously sponsored some of the event costs. There was an exhibition of photographs from the community taken from the three different ongoing projects. The displays included short briefs on the current projects, and photographs of MNH intervention in Malegaon, ARSH intervention in Tigri, and IGP intervention in Tigri.
Approximately 45 invitees attended the event. At the venue, two drop-boxes were kept, in which the guests were requested to drop cheques.
Quite a number of the guests along with Swaasthya Head office team members, Malegaon onsite team members and Dr Ambedkar Nagar field team donated at the event.
The invitees enjoyed drinks and food which were served at the Diner. Shabdam band regaled the guests with sufi songs. In between, Mr Valentine Shipley, a renowned singer and musician held the attraction of everyone by rendering some wonderful tracks.
Ms. Poonam Bhagat, a renowned fashion designer in her own eloquent way invited the speakers, who were ardent supporters of Swaasthya to say a few words on their association with the organisation. The speakers who spoke at the podium were:
